The Nissan GT-R is going to celebrate its 50th anniversary next year. And to mark this significant milestone, the Japanese car brand decided to cooperate with the Italian Italdesign design, a design and engineering company who also turns 50 the same year, to build the most expensive and powerful version of GT-R ever. Nissan equipped this 50th version with the modified 3.8L twin-turbocharged V6 engine

According to the director of the Nissan Global Sports Car Program:

“The reaction from Nissan fans around the world – and potential customers of the GT-R50 – has greatly exceeded our expectations.

These 50 cars, which celebrate 50 years of the GT-R as well as 50 years of Italdesign, will be rolling tributes to Nissan’s engineering leadership and rich sports car heritage for a long time to come”.

Nissan company also informs their customers who want to become an owner of a GT-R50 to visit website www.GT-R50.nissan and contact Italdesign to design their own car. It means that 50 fortuitous customers would own a GT-R50 with its interior and exterior of their favorite color.

50 lucky customers can have their own customised Nissan GT-R50s

Nissan plans to produce only 50 of this car. To afford one, you must spend over ten times as much as a regular version of Nissan GT-R, about £1.5 million (~₦685 million).

The GT-R50 edition is designed on the base of 5th Nismo edition, but equipped with larger intercoolers and turbos, and improved fuel injectors.

Significantly, Nissan has modified 3.8L twin-turbocharged V6 engine of the standard DT-R version and equipped for this GT-R50 Hypercar, lifting its power up from 570bhp (as in the standard version) to 710bhp.
